Our Story
When Chen Amit, Matan Yaffe, and David Sherz founded Shoresh in 2021, they weren’t looking to start just another nonprofit. They wanted to break a painful pattern they saw again and again: brilliant social ventures would emerge, only to collapse under the weight of legal, technical, or bureaucratic barriers. Every idea had to start from scratch. Every founder stood alone.
They asked: what if social entrepreneurs didn’t have to waste their energy on red tape? What if there was a ready-made support system waiting for them ?
In a time when Israel is facing some of the greatest challenges in its history – deepening social polarization and a prolonged war – the need for a strong engine to launch and support social ventures quickly and effectively is more urgent than ever.
That’s how Shoresh was born – a home for initiatives that change reality.
Shoresh provides social entrepreneurs with fertile ground to grow – a legal framework, strategic and operational guidance, a community of peers, and practical tools that turn vision into impact.
Today, Shoresh is a thriving ecosystem of dozens of early-stage initiatives, grassroots projects, and vision-driven nonprofits. We don’t just incubate new ventures – we also host and scale existing ones. The result is a dynamic community that learns and grows together, magnifying each member’s reach and influence.
